Manreet Deol creates striking contemporary sculptural jewelry using traditional Indian metalsmithing technique.
Along with her brother Samraat, had set up Manifest Design in 2013 to make authentic meaningful jewelry that was committed to revitalizing the traditional metalsmithing traditions of India, wanting to offer a fresh new esthetic for contemporary accessories.
Manreet says that “Indian women are very confident, and more and more we see that they are willing to experiment with their jewelry. The notion of only wearing gold is over. We have grandmothers buying our Sirena statement pieces and pairing them with their kanjivaram sari, or even men buying our totem pieces.”
Manifest Design sells directly to customers mainly through their website and a few select stores in India and the US. All their pieces are made in north India in small artisanal workshops.
“Contemporary jewelry is really about having a clear personal viewpoint and sharing it in a commercially viable form.” – Manreet believes.
