“It feels amazing to see my illustrations on physical products that people can touch, hold and even eat on,” – she explains.
Smriti finds it impossible to compartmentalize or plan creative thoughts:
“Sometimes it starts with a visual in my head and sometimes it starts with a narrative. There is no set process that I follow. At times the inspiration comes from something I see and there are other times when it comes from something I read.”
Getting to do what she loves is the most delightful part of the work:
“…that’s why it never feels like work! I get to express myself creatively without any sort of pressure. Another thing I love about my work is that it’s absolutely therapeutic. When I am detailing my illustrations, I get totally absorbed in the process and forget about all my problems. Even after sitting in one posture for hours, I get up from my chair feeling absolutely refreshed.”
