Teamwork is what matters for Samira Gupta and Dhritiman Deb Pillai of Studio Eksaat, a collaborative graphics and environments studio based in New Delhi.
Eksaat in Hindi means ‘together’. Designers believe that good design comes from a team of professionals who come together for a specific project.
Samira’s love for design started with collecting tickets:
“There is a romance about tickets that I find hard to describe. Most of them come with unimportant events, but the memories are strong. Some have the smell of popcorn, some of winter in the air, some of first love and some of plain boredom. The tiny insignificant details are the ones which are worth remembering. I have the same kind of love for design.”
I still don’t know what I want to do,- says Dhritiman. – But I have learnt that that’s the best part of being a designer.
Designers believe that
“to make design good for business, we need to change our perspective, be open to ideas, take a leap of faith and try new things. We need to understand that our consumer is intelligent and will enjoy a challenge.”
“If we embrace technology and work with it to create something beautiful, – they say, – then many stories worth telling will be shared. That is the exciting part – being able to reach a large audience, change mindsets and maybe eventually change thinking.”
